Henry Boag was born in Fermanagh, Ireland in around 1823 to Thomas Bogue, a cooper journeyman and Helen Cree. On 3rd March 1848 Henry appeared in the court reports in the Dundee, Perth and Cupar Advertiser. On 8th January 1849 Henry married Margaret Kelly in Dundee.
